I purchased an old Doctor’s book some years ago, from a
local oppe shop.
It, appeared to have been owned, by an awfully sick soul;
for the pages had spittle marks, as if it had been coughed on most pages.
After reading some of it, I got sick with a cough, and put
the book aside.
It was a well written book, with some absolute gems of
knowledge, in simple old techniques to cure some nasty complaints.
Mom picked it up recently, and read about an ancient
medicinal herb called ‘Squill’.
Not only is it good for the heart, but to treat cough
complaints.
I had to know about this, so I did a web search, and found
an article on Wikkipedia.
It was mentioned, in the texts of Pythagoras, 6 BC correct
me if I am wrong.
Was also used to kill rats.
There are other forms of Squill, and the medicinal type, is
now called Drimia Maritima.
So I purchased some seeds, and so I’m growing it soon.
We already have herbal medicine growing to treat the common
cold.
I believe, one of the biggest jokes I have heard in years,
is when they closed the local Geelong
jail.
It sure has been a while, since I had a vacation.
